Essential Tools You Will Need When Starting as a Plumber
You asked for it, so we made it. Today, we're talking about the tools you're going to need when starting as a plumber. The tools we're talking about are basic, essential tools. You may need more tools or different tools depending on the type of plumbing you're getting into.
I suggest you ask your boss before your first day what all you need to bring when you show up for your first real day of plumbing. They may require you to supply some tools, they may supply them all for you. It just depends.

I just got so good I can eye ball it
Hammer, level, tape measure, and marker. Boom
How big of a nut are we talking about?🤨
what if Im claustrophobic? will that have a major effect?
“Big enough to get on a big nut” 👀😳
My uncle chic been plumbing 40 years AND runs the jobs at MCG here in Augusta GA and he has exact same mustache
Thank you sir♥️👍
my old man has been laying pipe since he was 18 outa high school… still never graduated from the 5 gallon bucket😂 had same one for 15 years and counting
The first day of my apprenticeship i brought most of these and so far have only used my tape measure and channel, that said always better to have it and not need it than vice versea
My first day was with my best friend and his company because he needed help. Showed up with my whole trailer that had all my car repair tools. Little over kill but hey we used some of them.
The all in one drivers are nice, but I have not had one yet, that doesnt fall apart. The klein has been the best so far (electrician contractor)
A marker and a utility knife. A must have in my book. My boss always asks me for a marker, a utility knife and a tape. So I have to be ready! Haha
Pvc saw and tube cutter
You must have deep pockets
Cool mustache is important in all trades. But I'm glade you didn't say something corny like your mind or your smart phone.
Since my first day training in electrical training Every one of these has been worth it to have since the first minute.
Electrical. Multiple channel locks, strap/pipe wrench, impact and drill. Sockets and chucks, uni bit, hole saw kit, linesmen 9" plyers, tape measure, wire strippers, hammer. Then spend like 800 more on finishing your basic sett.
I am first year through college. Then I ran across Roger Wakefields videos, suddenly I find myself searching for tools and making that step into the trades. I wanted to do something different and with work with my hands. Thanks Roger for being a huge Inspiration! Heres to future in plumbing🚽👨🔧
I wanna be a good plumber but I’m a girl so any advice on how to grow a moustache 😂
A Sawzall is a life saver
Great advice on which tools are needed.
What if I can’t grow a mustache???
You must ride a Harley.
Great channel, good info. Keep it up👍🏻
When I was 18 I got hired on with a small plumbing company I was young and excited so I went bought myself a hammer channel locks tape measure but I bought a tool belt (I didn't know what to expectfirst time doing any type of construction) the boss laughed and said I showed initiative versus the other people he hired and then told me to take off the belt lol
Thanks for the info, but as you said people can’t do plumbing if they not a plumber, here is the thing , why have to explain about tools to do it? I know maybe is just me , but thanks anyway.
Im 23 but always use a stick rule lol, way more accurate
dude a mustache ? I have a go-T . I have that in the beginning Of working in the trade . There has to be an exception.
Will my peach fuzz do good for the mustache part
